Place: Northumberland - Morpeth

Morpeth

I decided to jump on a bus and visit the largest town in Northumberland, that called Morpeth. I wanted to take a few images which shows the beauty of Northumberland. Morpeth is an absolutely stunning place, it's renowned for its vast amount of foliage throughout the streets of the town, so much so, it won a 'green' and 'In bloom' award.

Within the town, a beautiful scenic river runs through, which is teaming with life. Swans are a common sight, along with small pedal boats, which can be rented and used up and down the river. At one end of the river, there are some stepping stones, allowing people to cross from one side to the other, the stones have been apparent for hundreds of years, being renewed for safety within the last few years.

As a child I visited 'Riverside Park', which is a popular park, holding a clean, working swimming pool for younger children, and several recreational activities for older children. It's set among tree's and flowers, making it look most beautiful. There are walks up past the parks, which leads on to historical gardens.

Within the main street on the town there are an array of beautiful historic shops, the town square holding markets, which are popular with the habitants.

The street itself is decorated in bunting, flower boxes, flags, window boxes and huge planting boxes.

Here are the images I took on my travels to Morpeth:

A book I came across of my dads, it shows several historic images on how Morpeth used to be and look like, showing it to be quite an historic town. It also included several walks and traIls which can be found within the town.

Taking some notes about the town on the bus back.
