Many stores offer maintenance when a bicycle is bought from a store. For instance halfords offer bike care plans which consist of paying for a plan, suited to the amount of time you will need it for and the style of bike you purchased. Here is an outline of the bike plan you can purchase:

SUMMARY OF SERVICE

Checking:

• Frame and other core components for wear and damage
• Damage to hubs, bearings, spokes, rims and tyres
• That both wheels are true and running freely
• Stem alignment and security of it's clamping to steerer
• Security of the stem handlebar clamp and all controls are secure
• Operation, effectiveness and alignment of brakes
• Brakepads for wear and damage
• Front chainwheel, rear sprockets / cassette for wear
• Chain for wear & lubricate
• Bottom bracket for play & adjustment
• Alignment and wear of front and rear mechs
• Pedals for wear, damage & alignment
• Torque of both crank bolts
• Condition of suspension forks

Replacing:

• Brake & gear cables removed and new cables fitted

Setting:

• Gear stops and adjust indexing
• Inflation of both tyres to correct pressure

#Older cycles are eligible for a Bike Care Plan however they may require a comprehensive service & parts prior to purchase

This Bike Care Plan includes all bikes with 24" and above wheels.
